    A Spooktacular Bike Tour

Come join member Julie Schmitt on a slow roll starting from the Green Lawn Abbey and head into the spooktacular Green Lawn Cemetery. You'll be stopping along the way to hear the tales of many famous legends who are buried in this beautiful resting place, including James Thurber, Frank Packard, Eddie Rickenbacker, etc.

Park your vehicle at the Abbey (700 Greenlawn Ave.) on the front lawn, and we'll roll from there! We may even have a Green Lawn Trustee join us for the ride.

We'll head back to the Abbey around 5:30, just in time for a pot-luck, COP style, annual board elections, and other festivities.

We have a limited number of bikes. If you need one, let us know and we'll have a cruiser style for you at the Abbey.

    A $15 donation is suggested.

Nominations for the Ron Eisele Award are
Now Open Through October 15

What is the Ron Eisele Award?

The award is made annually to the volunteer-member who best represents the spirit of volunteerism that was exhibited by the late COP President Ron Eisele. Ron Eisele did yeoman’s work for COP over a long period of time. Presentation of the award will take place at the Annual Meeting in October. A plaque with plates engraved with the year and the Honorees name is kept in the COP office is pictured below.

To nominate someone for this award, please send the persons’ name, contact information, and explanation of why this person deserves to be recognized with this award to office@outdoor-pursuits.org by 11:59pm on October 15. Don’t forget to include your own name and contact information so you can be contacted for further information.

Will you help COP pay for bike tool
kiosk education programming?

Donate Now

COP has applied for a grant through the Ohio Bicycle Foundation to help us pay for a bike tool kiosk education program focused on knowing your way around a tool kiosk. The grant will pay for 50% of the total $1800 amount. We will need to seek funding for the other 50% through other means, including donations.

What's a tool kiosk? A tool kiosk includes all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs. The tools are securely attached to the stand with stainless steel cables and tamper-proof fasteners. Hanging the bike from the hanger arms allows the pedals and wheels to spin freely while making adjustments.

You can check out different kiosks along the Ohio to Erie Trail in London (Thanks Phat Daddy's!), at Wilson Road Park, and behind the Berlin Fire Station in Delaware.
