Rocky Fork Access Information

This information is several years old.  The details may be out-of-date.

Access has been and is again an issue for paddling Rocky Fork.  There are at least three different landowners who own land we use for access at Barrett's Mill and Browning road.  Another person owns the land at the Rte. 50  bridge over the Rocky Fork.  I am in the process of gathering information on the landowners to secure permission for access and just generally develop a decent relationship with them.  If you are using the Barrett's Mill access point, you must contact Paul Barrett.  He lives in the nice Victorian house just across the road from the river right put-in. He also watches the river left access point and gives access permission for a landowner who lives nearby.  Paul's wishes are that we let him know several days in advance that we are coming and he wants to minimize any cars left at river right (some folks have been parking in his yard).  In fact, Paul would prefer that shuttle vehicles be left at the river left access - which has a much nicer path to the creek.  Paul's phone number is 937-365-1447.  He would also prefer to get a note via mail letting him know who's coming. His address: Paul Barrett, 6920 Cave Rd., Bainbridge, OH  45612.
