COP is excited to announce that the 2010 BikeColumbus Festival web page is now live. COP is partnering with Consider Biking and the Mayor "Bikin' Mike" Coleman, the City of Columbus, the Institute for Active Living and numerous other organizations to present a weekend festival on Friday, July 16 - Saturday, July 17, and Sunday August 1, 2010. With Consider Biking as the guide we are excited to build a festival that brings together multiple bicycling endeavors, focuses attention on bicycling, and raises funds and resources for bicycling-related projects and efforts.
In the days ahead our online registration will go live and I would encourage each of you to come out in July and participate in one or all of the great events we have planned. This will be your chance to get out and ride to benefit cycling and celebrate two wheels.
Steve Barbour Memorial Tour - July 17, 2010 The Steve Barbour Memorial Tour is a beautiful, fully supported bicycle tour that heads south to the wonderful country of Hocking County. Choose from distances of 31,62, 93 or 124 miles (we also have a shorter family option route) and enjoy a great ride, plus fun, food and entertainment at the end of your day. Best of all, this tour helps support the Columbus Outdoor Pursuits and Consider Biking / Steve Barbour Memorial Fund: which promotes bike safety and education programs. Come cycling with Columbus Outdoor Pursuits! We welcome new cyclists as well as those who have been riding for years.
Our COP volunteers offer one-time and weekly occurring rides of varying distances and terrain starting at different locations around Central Ohio. We also organize budget tours around the state, including the Knox County Bicycle Challenge, Columbus Fall Challenge (CFC), and HOOT. Please consult the Cycling Activity Schedule for a listing of upcoming rides.

If you are new to COP rides, please make sure to read the description of the ride and consult our COP Rider Guidelines . By choosing the correct pace and arriving prepared for the conditions of a particular ride, you help ensure that our rides are as safe and fun as possible for everyone. If you have further questions regarding the ride, contact the ride leader listed.
Note that starting times listed for each ride indicates when the riders will roll out of the parking lot to begin the ride. Therefore, please arrive early enough to depart at the prescribed time listed.
Lastly, note that helmets are REQUIRED on all COP rides.
