Registration Form &
More Information Basic Information: South of Plain City. Fully Supported Tour. 155 mile first loop followed by three 15 mile loops. Course will be mostly flat. Mass start 6:00 am. Registration 4:30 to 5:45 am. Cost $30 day of ride, discounts for early registration. Start Location is at Plainview Christian School, 8270 Amish Pike, Plain City OH 43064-9319. Frank Seebode frankseebode(AT)verizon.net 740-369-1425 Food: If you are pre-registered we will provide something to eat at the start. Expect no more than a bagel, banana, and sweet roll. There should be food available 24 hours a day at I70 and US42. The first, second, and fourth food stops will have typical food you will find on a supported ride (banana’s, granola bars, trail mix, Gatorade, etc.) The third food stop around mile 125 will also have lunch items (bread, meat, lettuce, tomatoes, P&J, and condiments). Heat: Probably the biggest issue you face on this ride will be the heat. Try to get as many miles in before it gets hot. Your first and second stops should be as short as possible. We will try to have at least one store to stop at between food stops. If it gets above 95 degrees your water bottles will only be good for dumping water on your head. We strongly recommend that you bring a camel back. We will provide ice so you should be able to have cold liquids to drink between food stops. Gatorade probably will not give you enough electrolytes, so we will provide you with some endurolytes capsules to pre-registered riders and day of ride folks until supplies run out. Training: This section is geared for folks doing their first long distance ride. You have 16 hours to ride a flat to rolling 200 miles. An average riding speed of 14 mph should be sufficient to get the full 200. If you are slower than that then you will have to really limit your stops. Your goal is to complete the first 100 miles of this ride in 7 hours or less. If you do this, more than likely you will get your 200 miles in. You will ride the second century slower than the first. Food stops are spaced around 40 miles apart. You need to get used to riding that distance without having to stop. We recommend that you do several centuries with only one food stop. If you ride a metric century or under we recommend you do those without stopping. Finally you should have at least one 200K (125 mile) ride under your belt. Lima Roadrunners has a double metric on June 28 (probably flat). Columbus Outdoor Pursuits has a hilly 200K ride on June 28 starting from Canal Winchester which should equal at least 155 miles of the 200 mile route.
