2001 Board Retreat

A "retreat" is held yearly in November in place of the usual board meeting. As it occurs after the annual elections, it is an ideal time for the new board members to meet everyone and get acquainted.

At lunch break, as we are all OUTDOORS-ey people, we went, er, OUTDOORS! Dave Seslar brought one of COP's new sea kayaks for people to look at, sit in, and in some cases, make motorboat noises with. Our new president, Keith Finn, had more sinister intentions in mind.

Keith brought his entire collection of RECUMBENT BICYCLES. For many, this was their first opportunity to examine or try a recumbent, Some reclined, some declined, some stared in disbelief as others zoomed about the park making giddy gleeful noises not unlike their first time on a bicycle.

Needless to say, the meeting reconvened a little late.

The retreat is serious business for the organization. Tough issues like, are we serving the members adequately, and what do we need to do better are tackled.

We hope that you enjoy some of the improvements planned for 2002. For instance, there will be more "whole family" activities. You will also notice a larger variety of activities.
