!Help! Help!
This is a good news /
bad news story. The good news: Kathy Hoke, our Bicycling Chair, has a new dream job with the Ohio
Historical Society. The bad news: COP's Bicycle Chair, Kathy Hoke, will be stepping down so she can
concentrate more of her energies on her new job. I have really liked working with Kathy for the
past 2 years, she has been just darn good at the business of being a bicycle chair. And we want the
good job she has been doing to continue, and for that we will need a new chair for the bicycling
program.
So here is my plea / pitch / grovel -- is there a COP cyclist out there that wants to try this position on for size?
I can tell you what the COP bicycle chair DOESN'T have to be: The fastest / longest lasting / most dedicated / high mileage / huge thewed / elite cyclist that never drove a car! The new person DOES have to be able to:
The upshot, we are looking for a cyclist who can work with the COP ride leaders, and be able to work with the Board. Exceptional cycling ability is not a prerequisite -- the ability to communicate is your best asset for this job.
