Ride Description: CFC is a challenging ride, for the rider who likes steep climbs, swift descents, and breathtaking views from the hills of Southeastern Ohio. It is a strenuous, two-day ride that covers over 200 miles, starting and ending at the Fairfield Career Center north of Lancaster, OH. Marietta will be the overnight stop this year. Registration packets, available for pickup from 7-8:30 am will contain: 1) wristband; 2) detailed route map; and 3) luggage tags.
Support: Your rider fee provides am and pm snack stops, lunch on both days, and breakfast in Marietta on Sunday morning. There will be limited SAG service provided. As with a ride of the caliber of CFC, it is expected that you and your bike will be in above average condition. SAG support is provided for those unexpected emergencies. We will also try to have a bike mechanic available at the end of the day. All major emergencies/accidents will require you to contact local authorities (sheriff, Highway Patrol, etc.) All law enforcement jurisdictions will be advised of our bike route.
Overnight: The overnight gym space is at the YMCA in Marietta. The luggage truck will deliver your bag there. You are limited to 2 bags totaling no more than 25 lbs.
Age Limit: All Riders under 18 yrs must have a parent or guardian sign their release. Riders under 17 years old must have a responsible adult with them on the tour. Riders under 15 yrs must ride with an adult family member.
Safety: Obey all traffic laws, ride at a safe pace, be alert and check your bicycle for a hilly day. Although the routes are planned to minimize traffic, you will be sharing the road with other vehicles.
Helmets: That meet CPSC, ASTM, or SNELL standards will be required while riding the bike.
