I rode TOSRV this year, the first time in 20 years and I made it all the way! I don't think I could have accomplished it if it had not been for the activates that I participated in this winter offered by the Columbus Outdoor Pursuits, Namely those hikes up and down the mountains of Ohio and the organized bicycle rides. I went on several Heat of the Day rides on Sundays lead by Dick Seebode. He really helped motivate me to keep on going. Upon one occasion he did that by visualizing the completion of the Saturday trip into Portsmouth, approaching and crossing the bridge into town. As it turned out I met up with him at that point and rode with him across the bridge. On the flood wall just after the bridge, the City of Portsmouth had just completed the mural honoring TOSRV and were about to have a dedication ceremony.
