I started out with a flat in Bowling Green (my third ever in BG). Then I killed a lot of time talking to Mildred Beeker of the Beeker General Store in Pemberville, couldn’t find the “you can’t miss it” IGA, visited two bike shops, tracked what I thought was a trapped animal that turned out to be a hawk chased by a much smaller bird, took pictures, veged by the blue waters in White Star Park near Gibsonburg, talked with two cousins fishing off of a bridge, and generally drug my junk food-fed carcass on an advertised fifty mile route that stretched into sixty something. It was great fun though and the laughter and stories that followed at the Tiffin YMCA and dinner in town is still precious. Ann Gerckens is never at a loss for a tale to tell. (Good luck getting this particularly juicy one out of her).
