Day 4
Tiffin to Ashland
Day 3 <--  ||  --> Day 5

   Today, people were fretting about having to ride into Tiffin for breakfast. Rueben and Rosa, 'Tiffinites' and XOBA riders, rallied with their relatives and produced breakfast in the shelter house. I sat through three shifts of breakfast eaters. It is like Todd said, and I liked to repeat, “It is just fun to yuck it up with your friends.” And we did too, talking with a retired Willard man who had traveled the world and at Uncle Dudleys Restaurant again in Willard. The waitress gave us a tip about where to eat in Ashland.
    Rolling through Celeryville during the growing season is a bit like riding along the ocean. Waves of green vegetables grow in the dark muck soils. On this day the air was pungent with the smell of newly-dug onions. Dark-skinned and further tanned workers rode on open-top trucks, that looked like overloaded boats, waving at us as we rode through the parted seas of radishes, lettuce and spinach. Riding east out of Shiloh and south into Olivesburg is another personal favorite area. There are easy rollers and Amish people without commercialism. Ron, Todd and I rode our three bikes as if they were one. This is a delight that comes with experience.
    The restaurant in Ashland that Maggie in Willard had recommended was a delight. (Good luck getting this particularly good choice out of me.) This night the camping area around the YMCA was so bright, that I wrote and read into the night while a cool breeze blew.
