It just keeps getting better and better! In response to all the great comments from the last three summer's 'Across Ohio Bicycle Adventure,' we are offering XOBA during the summer of 2001, during the week July 21-28. This year we will be traveling from the North to the South. Be sure to check out the new routes and new host towns. In addition, we will have many opportunities to visit the many 'different' points of interest along the way.

Saturday, July 21
After meeting next to the Ohio River at a Metropark in the Cincinnati area at 10:00 am, you will pick up your registration packet, t-shirt and box lunch and board the bus. Your bike and luggage will be safely on the professional moving truck. The 4-5 hour drive to Cleveland will be the short and soft-seated version of the fun time you will be having for the next 7 days on your bicycle seat. Once in Rocky River we will have a group dinner and have time after to get out and stretch our legs to the shoreline of the Lake.

Sunday, July 22
Beginning the week with our old and new friends, we will ride the fabled "Emerald Necklace" of Cleveland, a linear park system that has been created by Metroparks. This will take us to the Tow Path Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Along this trail are numerous stops for food and drink as well as scenic views and historic sites. Look for deer, turtles Great Blue Herons and enjoy the boardwalk as we travel south. The climb out of the valley will seem short as we end the day in Medina.

Monday, July 23
It's Monday and we are riding our bikes instead of working, cool! The small towns of northern Ohio and Findlay State Park are the attractions today as we travel through Lorain and Ashland counties on our way to the City of Ashland and the newly expanded YMCA. Learn how to take advantage of the friendliness of the locals and discover a new place to eat! A stop on XOBA #1, the "Y" is happy to have us back.

Tuesday, July 24
From Ashland, we will head down through the Mohican Valley Region, in part using the Richland and Kokosing Gap bike trails. Malabar Farm and Mohican State Park are the local attractions on the way to Mt. Vernon.

Wednesday, July 25
This day will see us cross several river valleys. We will be near Delaware and Alum Creek State Parks with swimming available. Our destination at Marysville will be near the Union County fairgrounds and the fair will be in session.

Thursday, July 26
From Marysville we will enjoy some flatland riding through London and down to Xenia. Part of the route will be on the Little Miami Scenic Trail. Xenia is the hub of many bike trails and the town is ready for our group.

Friday, July 27
Our shortest mileage day will allow for some extra rest, sightseeing, or a trip up to Yellow Springs and an ice cream from Young's Dairy. On Friday night we will be in Lebanon, which has much history and many good restaurants to celebrate our last night together.

Saturday, July 28
Our final day together will take us down the southern portion of the Little Miami Scenic Trail, through Milford and on to the Ohio River. Our path will have taken us across the state and our effort will have given us new strength and new friends.
